From an early age, both of Dr. Murray’s grandmothers stressed the importance of women having an opportunity to pursue education and inspired her with their abilities to keep going despite life’s challenges, being an eternal optimist, and spreading love at every corner.

Dr. Murray established two awards to honour her grandmothers, Ethel Williams and Vera Murray.  These awards are granted to students who are graduating from the Nursing Program at UPEI who have experienced significant adversity during their nursing degree studies.
