UPEI’s annual fund campaign helps women’s rugby

Annual gifts from alumni, faculty, staff, and friends of UPEI provide a vital source of revenue for university operations. Annual gifts, which are received and spent in the same year, go to work immediately to support many projects at  UPEI.

This year, one of those projects was to purchase a new scrum sled for the women’s rugby team.

“The new scrum sled will aid in the development of our team by allowing us to improve technique, strength, timing, and drive in our scrummaging. Having a strong scrum allows us to maintain our own ball possession and to compete for turnover ball from the opposition.  Scrummaging is one of the key areas a team needs to dominate in order to win games.”
